  1. This was forwarded to me by Johnny Simmons of KUSP FM:
    Dear Johnny Simmons,

Laurence Bedford from the RIO theater give me your information to tell you about this special screening.

I am the director of DUST & ILLUSIONS, a film that explores 30 years of Burning Man history. The film is a critical but thoughtful look at this evolution over those years.

Whether you are interested in the phenomenon or not, the film goes well beyond the simple event, and looks at how ideals born in our
youth evolve through an entire lifetime. Starting by presenting two
groups at the origin of Burning Man in San Francisco of the late 70s, the film brings out a forgotten history up until today where Burning Man turns into a multi-million dollar business, and wonders if politics might have replaced philosophies.

The film is coming to Santa Cruz for a single screening on June 3rd, and I will be there to do a full Q&A after the film.

If you were interested in previewing the film, let me know so I can
give you access to the film online.

Along with Dennis Morton, I review films as part of the KUSP FM Film Gang collective. If you wish to read and hear samples of our work go
to Dennis and I alternate. It
would be my turn to go to your Burning Man film “Dust and Illusions” this coming June 3rd. I am also on Facebook.
Please let me know if you would like me to review it. (831)425-7523.
